I will always have a red eye for the latest technological fashion statement. And I will probably never ever buy the latest technological fashion statement.
This MSN article on must have back-to-school electronics for 2013 just boggles my mind. Honestly. The availability of tech-stuff has increased so dramatically in the last decade. Tablets are the new Walkmen (am I dating myself here?) and everyone and their two-year-old has a smart phone.
But ridiculous purchases aside, there are some pretty cool gadgets out there. Like this USB rechargeable AA battery:
These rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries don’t even need a dedicated charging station to refill, as they juice up via any USB port.
But then some are just plain insulting like this No.2 pencil-shaped stylus:
A stylus provides more precision, plus the capacity to write and draw, not to mention the retro look and feel of a modern upgrade to a childhood classic.
Excuse me, retro? How can something that’s been used widely in my lifetime be described as retro? And since when is a pencil a childhood classic?

Clearly, there are just too many new-fangled contraptions for this old biddy to keep up with.
That USB battery looks very, very useful!
